Corrective surgery for the external ear
Already in their early years, children often suffer increased psychological stress due to protruding ears, so that external ear corrections are called for.
Because of the different form and causes of abnormal external ear position, an exact analysis is recommended for such an intervention.
External ear corrections can be made already from the age of 5-6 years, as the ear cartilage is already as much as 95% formed.
We utilise the suture technique via an incision in the skin concealed behind the ears, leaving no visible scars behind and with the expectation of a normal external ear form.
With strongly developed cartilage, modelling with the use of a fine drill is required in addition and the ear formed with precise positioning of the suture.
Different types of abnormal formations, such as excessively large ears, protruding ears, non-identical ears, cup-shaped and bowl-shaped ears, as well as protruding and excessively large ear lobes.
Corrections are also made to the form of the outer ear following the removal of tumours or following injuries or formation of scar tissue, as well as revision interventions.
